Simone Bailly

The following is an interview with Simone Bailly who plays Leah Kroker in the zombie movie by Thomas Newman, Bong of the Dead. According to the writer, producer and director of the movie, Simone Bailly was cast in the film Bong Of The Dead not only because of her raw talent and professionalism as an actor, but also because of her stunning on screen presence.

Simone is no rookie to movies and television. She has a large and ever-growing resume that includes some of Hollywood’s and television’s biggest shows and movies. Just a few days ago while watching a re-run of Battlestar Galactica I noticed her looking as good as ever!

1) Q. What attracted you to BONG OF THE DEAD?
I just loved the title. A stoner zombie movie where I get to play a kick-ass chick, how could I say no?

2) Q. What was your favorite part of the experience?
I hate violence, but I love using guns in film. I have to say, I bonded with my shotgun.

3) Q. Why do you think you were perfect for the role of Leah Kroaker?
There is a dark sexiness to Leah, she’s tough yet vulnerable. The Director always tells me that I have her eyes. He’d come at me saying, “Cat eyes!”.

4) Q. What was it like being Directed by Thomas Newman?
Thomas throws around a lot of f-bombs, which is actually endearing. As a director, he knows his stuff and captures it in a gorgeous way. This film will surely get him noticed, but I think he views himself as an underdog. He listened
to Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” a lot for inspiration.

5) Q. What was it like working with your co-stars Mark Wynn & Jy Harris?
Before ever going to camera, Mark, Jy & I took a weekend and acted out the entire movie in my parent’s backyard. We used a bat for a shotgun, a broom for a weed whacker, and spatula’s for blades. We called ourselves the Trinity.
